Our salespeople and employees commit to the following:

- Keeping informed about fair housing laws and practices, and informing our clients and customers of their rights and responsibilities under those laws;
- Never steering, redlining, or otherwise limiting a client’s choices based on any protected status;
- Refusing to facilitate any request or instruction that would discriminate against any person on the basis of a protected status; and
- Advertising and marketing properties in a manner that is free of discrimination and consistent with fair housing guidelines.
The Fair Housing Act
The Fair Housing Act prohibits discrimination in the sale, rental, and financing of housing based on race, color, religion, sex, disability, familial status, or national origin. Florida law provides additional protections. It is illegal to:
- Refuse to show, rent, sell, or finance a home based on a protected status;
- Set different terms or conditions for different buyers or renters;
- Falsely deny that a home is available for inspection, sale, or rental; or
- Advertise or make statements that indicate preference or discrimination.
If you believe your rights have been violated
If you feel you have experienced housing discrimination, you may file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) within one year of the alleged violation. You can file online at hud.gov/fair-housing or by calling HUD at 1-800-669-9777. You may also contact the Florida Commission on Human Relations.
